Job Description:
The Database Administrator engages in complex support, analysis and/or design activities requiring in-depth knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. This person acts as a technical consultant to the system programming and application staff as well as a key member of the DBA production support team. Provides technical input for long-term planning and formulation of policy regarding use of database software.

Responsibilities:
• Performs essential DBA functions for supported databases (including SQL Server, Oracle and DB2).
• Provides normal and emergency production support. Coordinates with user departments and other Support staff in order to resolve system problems.
• Documents database processing procedures, operations run books and system documentation and training of data processing and user personnel on system usage.
• Performs research, analysis, evaluation and recommendation of Database Software and related tools.
• Functions as team leader on small to moderate systems projects. Provides technical and analytical assistance to project staff.
• Complies with all policies and procedures and enforces all established security procedures. Performs other related duties, as necessary.

Requirements:
Candidates should have 3+ years of experience as a DBA, and would preferably have 2 or more years of development experience or a development environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with MS SQL, Oracle, or DB2. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task are necessary. Project Management experience is a plus, and excellent communication and organizational skills needed. A degree in Computer Science, or related experience.
